This is part of Sony's broader move to deprecate some aspects of older hardware, although following backlash, the company reversed course on its original plans to shut down the PS Vita and PS3 stores. You won't be able to send or receive messages from a Vita, but messages will, of course, still be usable through PS4, PS5, and the PlayStation App. There is a way to find out but theres some flaw to this method, if you on there profile and check there games that can show if ur friend is online or not. In addition to shutting down the MyPlayStation website, Sony has begun shutting down PlayStation Vita's messaging app. You can still access basic profile information and your game library from the PlayStation website. There are a handful of features that are now only accessible through the mobile app or through a PlayStation console: Trophies, Friends, Parties, and any messaging functionality. However, it appears that Sony has decided that the MyPlayStation website isn't worth maintaining any longer. Since 2018, MyPlayStation was maintained as a separate site from the PlayStation storefront and homepage, and it provided players an opportunity to continue engaging with friends and checking their Trophies from a PC. Sony has officially shut down the web version of MyPlayStation-basically PlayStation's social hub-and is instead telling people to use the PlayStation App or access their info through a console. But if it doesn’t, you can head over to the PlayStation support for more assistance. The ability to see your PlayStation social information and Trophies from a web browser is no more. This method should hopefully resolve the issue. Then, you need to type and enter your PSN credentials to log in again.
